

Nadia Tasci is a Toronto based glass flame artist and silversmith. She specializes in jewellery and hand-made glass beads, working with the mediums of glass and metal simultaneously for the past seven years.
Nadia studied at the Ontario College of Art and Design and Sheridan College, as a Visual Arts and Craft / Design student. In 2003 she was awarded a travel scholarship from the Ontario Crafts Council to complete a silver smith certificate from Sterling Quest Design School in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
She has studied with a variety of internationally recognized glass artists, including Dustin Tabor and Stephanie Sersich, in the techniques of glass flame work.
In 2003 and 2006 she was chosen to participate in Ontario Craft Council group exhibitions. From 2004 to 2006, Nadia Tasci was an Artscape retail studio
tenant in the Case Goods Warehouse, located in the Distillery.
As of January 2008, Nadia Tasci is joining the La Perlerie Team to teach in the Art of Bead Making. We are thrilled to have her, and look forward to seeing her talent-in-action! We hope that you will join us.

Overview of the equipment and tools, basic safety information.
Techniques –Making round beads, decorating with dots, beads in various shapes other than round.
This class is geared to students with no experience, or those looking to review fundamental flameworking techniques.
Cost of Registration: $100.00 per person , 3 hour session
Maximum 4 students per class. All materials are included.
The beads made in class will be kiln-annealed and will be available for pick-up the following business day. Students make 6 to12 beads each, depending on their aptitude. Students also receive demo beads made during workshops by the instructor.

This is a Technique-oriented class. Learn to make stringer, raked patterns, cylinder & bicone beads. Encase silver leaf.

Students wishing to rent Torch Time, can do so by the hour. Cost of Rental: $22/hr - Materials (Glass rods, kiln time, etc...) INCLUDED!
